PrayerFocus is a Christian screen-time app: you choose apps to lock, and opening one shows a short prayer first. PrayerFocus is designed to be local-first. There is no account, no sign-up, and your prayer life stays on your device.
The following never leaves your phone: your lock list, prayer history and streak, daily check-ins and mood entries, Bible reading position and highlights, prayer times, and all app settings.
To show a prayer before an app on your lock list opens, PrayerFocus uses Android's accessibility service to see only the package name of the app you just opened. The service is configured so that it cannot read window content. It never reads your screen, messages, passwords, or anything you type; it never logs, stores, or transmits your app usage. The check happens entirely on your device. You can turn it off at any time in system Settings.
If you grant notification access, PrayerFocus reads only the posting app's package name to briefly snooze notifications from apps on your own lock list while a prayer is due. Notification titles and content are never read, stored, or transmitted. This permission is optional and revocable at any time.
If you purchase a subscription, purchase and entitlement information (your purchase history for this app and a randomly generated app identifier / device identifier) is processed by Google Play and by RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, solely to deliver and manage your subscription. We never see your payment card details.
When a subscriber uses AI-personalised prayers, the app sends only two values to our backend: a mood bucket (for example, "anxious") and an intention key (for example, "family"). No name, no free text, no identifiers accompany the request; the generated prayers are cached on your device. Users who do not subscribe, or who use bundled prayers, never trigger any network request for prayer content.
We do not sell user data. We do not share user data with third parties, other than the service providers named above (Google Play, RevenueCat) acting on our behalf to provide subscriptions.
All network communication uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
On-device data remains on your device and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. To request deletion of subscription records held by our providers, email us at the address below and we will process the request with Google Play and RevenueCat.
PrayerFocus is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
